Terms of Service

1. The service

Thaxas (“we”, “us”) provides an AI study companion at thaxas.com. You upload your own course material; Thaxas generates study aids — chat answers, flashcards, quizzes, guides, notes — grounded in that material. AI output can contain mistakes; verify anything that matters before an exam or submission.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country).

3. Payment

Thaxas is a paid service with no free tier and no free trial. Your card is charged when you subscribe — $12 per month or $96 per year, plus any sales tax, GST, or VAT required in your country — and again at the start of each billing period. We email you a confirmation for every charge. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, acting as merchant of record.

4. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel at any time from your billing page in two clicks. Cancellation stops all future charges immediately; access continues until the end of the period you already paid for. If you believe a charge was made in error, contact us within 14 days and we will review it in good faith.

5. Your content

You retain all rights to material you upload. You grant us a limited licence to store and process it solely to provide the service to you. You must own or have the right to use what you upload — do not upload pirated textbooks or another person's private data.

6. Acceptable use

Don't use Thaxas to violate your institution's academic integrity rules; the tool exists to help you learn, not to impersonate you in assessments. Don't probe, overload, or reverse-engineer the service, and don't attempt to access another user's data.

7. Termination

We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. You can delete your account — and all your data with it — from settings at any time.

8. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding it.

9. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
